In the city of Novi Pazar in Serbia have been proposed some changes to the street names.

The names of Shaban Polluzha, Ibrahim Rugova and Adem Demaçi are some of the names that have been proposed for re-naming some of the streets in this city.

This initiative has been undertaken by the Bosniak National Council, but there is still no final decision.

In addition to these names of historical figures of Albanians, have been proposed also names of some Albanian-Bosnian historical figures, such as Aćif Hadžiahmetović, known as Aćif Bljuta, President of Novi Pazar during World War II.

With the name of Shaban Polluzha it is proposed to be named the street in Hotkov, under the name of Ibrahim Rugova is expected to be named the current street 'Sutjeska', while with the name of Adem Demaçi, the street called 'Lug'.

In the reasoning for changing the streets of Sandzak, it is said that the current street names do not in any way reflect the identity of Novi Pazar.

"They in no way reflect what is Novi Pazar, and do not reflect the identity of Novi Pazar and its citizens".

Meanwhile, Sandzak deputies left the session of the Novi Pazar Parliamentary Assembly, as their proposal was removed from the agenda by the Progressive Party of Serbia of Aleksander Vucic.
