The lions of the Tirana zoo, whose photos have been around the world a few weeks ago, are heading today to the Netherlands.
After being taken from a private zoo in Fier, the lions are accommodated to the capital's zoo, while on Tuesday they moved to the Netherlands.The foreign media were the ones who raised their voice about the cruel conditions in which the lions lived in a private zoo in the city of Fier.
After the news got viral, the lions moved to the zoo of Tirana until the procedures for their departure were completed.
Jacques (12 years old) and his sons Boby and Lenc (8 years old) are heading today towards the Netherlands.
The lions will be sent to the Four Paws Center in the Netherlands and once they recover enough, they will go to the Lionsrock base in South Africa, where they will have almost their natural habitat.
