 Gjergj Prenkocaj was sentenced to € 1100 euros fine and was deported from Macedonia with a 5 years ban, just because yesterday at the Ohrid Fortress raised the Albanian flag. According to the Ohrid Court, Gjergj has disrupted the public order and serenity, as the Albanian flag was larger than the Macedonian one standing on the Castle.

The Court ruled out based on the request of the police, respectively the Sector of Internal Affairs of Ohrid, who have requested the confirmation of the violation of Gjergj Prenkocaj for the placement of the flag.

Decision of the Ohrid Court

"On 29.04.2019 at 12:30 in Ohrid at the Castle, the order and the public peace were disturbed by the accused who placed the flag on one side of the castle, 6 meters long and about 8 meters high, which does not contain the symbols of the flag of the Republic of North Macedonia.

...the accused has committed a misdemeanor punishable under Article 18 of the Law on Minor Offenses.

Gjergj Prenkoçaj is judged by:

Penalty of 100 days of work, calculated at 10 euros a day, worth of MKD 61,500, which is to be paid within 15 days after this decision comes into force, on the contrary, will be paid in compliance with the provisions of Article 125, paragraph 22 and Article 152 of the Law on Minor Offenses.

Based on the abovementioned provisions and in accordance with Article 22 of the Law on Minor Offenses, is also imposed an offense sanction to the defendant :

"The expulsion of the foreigner from the state, with a term of five years starting from the entry into force of this decision".
