Bunker at the unique pedestrian street in Tirana serving as a Museum (Bunkart) reminding the misery of the Communism |
The Third World War has become a concern for many people while the tensions are escalating among the major global powers.
The relationship between the US and China is particularly aggravated now, while the British newspaper Express has dedicated a special attention to the world's safest countries with more bunkers where you can escape a war World War III (WWIII). And Albania, is one of the safest, the third most safest country, after the US and Switzerland. In the US, the most states have bunker networks. The US government has built them during the Cold War for federal workers. Switzerland is also unique and has enough bunkers to accommodate its entire population.
And the third, Albania, has more than 170,000 bunkers, built between 1960 and 1980 during the communist rule. In fact, there are on average 5.7 bunkers per square kilometer in Albania, or one bunker for every four Albanians.
Bunkers have been built at the expense of the country's finances in times of economic crisis and housing, and have never been used for defense in the war.
After Albania, Sweden comes with more than 65,000 bunkers, which could accommodate up to 7 million people in case of WW III. Other safe countries are also Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland, which lead the list of the happiest countries and the highest standards of living.
While the most dangerous places in such a scenario are Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Sudan and Mali.
