Hungary's Foreign Minister said that "the European Union should open negotiations with Albania in June".
He stressed that "would be unacceptable to postpone the decision to open the negotiations of Albania with the EU".
During the meeting, the Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó added that "the security and stability of the Western Balkans is important and also affects directly the security of Central Europe".
Meanwhile, the Minister in charge of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj stated that "Albania remains hopeful for the opening of negotiations, based on the results achieved to date from the implementation of Justice Reform to Public Administration Reform."
"The Council will positively decide on the opening of accession negotiations in June," said the acting Minister Cakaj.
The two ministers shared the appreciation for the very good relations between the two countries, both politically and economically.
akaj and Hungarian Minister Szijjártó signed two agreements, which will further enhance economic co-operation between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed the OSCE's Albanian Presidency in 2020, where the parties agreed on further co-ordination of activities and co-operation between the two countries.
