Ankara reacts strongly: Netherlands slander and prejudice against Turkey

Ankara stated that the allegations put forward in the decision adopted against Turkey at the Dutch House of Representatives are unfounded and libelous.

In a written statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey it is written: "We strongly condemn and reject the decisions adopted yesterday against Turkey in the Assembly of Representatives in the Netherlands and unfounded allegations and full of defamations filed against our country".

"Those who support these unfounded efforts, with a lack of intelligence and seriousness, will not remain without taking a response," he said in a statement, also pointing out that the policy concept that seeks to attract voters by saving the day with the path of populism, will cause harm to those who have been handed over to these approaches beyond reason and logic.

"It would be fairer for the Dutch Parliament that is fed by prejudices, to be interested in more serious issues, that threaten Europe's values. In this regard, it is useful to take measures primarily against right-wing extremism, xenophobia, racism, Islamophobia and the attacks on mosques. At a time when progress has been made in the efforts to normalize relations with the Netherlands and as a result positive steps have been taken, such an iniquitous parliamentary initiative with an evil purpose will not make any contribution to the relations between the two countries through of such initiatives that are unclear of what purpose they serve."
