Even after five meetings at the round table of two governments, the economic barriers are still are hurting.
In the last economic meeting of Albania and Kosovo, instead of the results, a new trade war has been produced, which probably, according to Kosovo's announcements, will begin on July 1. Albania must meet 6 conditions in facilitating procedures and tariffs with Kosovo, otherwise will set to Albania the same barriers throughout the year. Rukiqi: We feel despised in Albania.
Fatmir Limaj, Kosovo's vice prime minister, says: The Albanian side has been delaying the cooperation since five years without any concrete measures.
So, Kosovo has decited to set six conditions that Albania must meet in order to continue the cooperation, otherwise Kosovo will increase tariffs for products coming from albania, bringing them to the same level:
- To remove the barrier for the beer excise
- To remove the barriers to potato and onion
- To not limit the amount of flour exported from Kosovo to Albania
- To fit the phytosanitary certificates
- To remove the the scanning tariff at customs
- To facilitate the tariffs of the Nation's Road
