Edi Rama while speaking on relations with Greece |
Asked by journalists of at what point are the negotiations with Greece, the head of the Albanian government said that the dialogue would continue and that this could not depend on the political origin of a Government.
He has shown that he has no Greek blood in any cells and has never had this flow.
"I have a mix in my ideas and I wouldn't feel bad if I had a part of my blood of Greek origin, but I have no single cell of Greek origin, I never had this kind of flow in my veins. I have some other flows, as from Shkodra, Mirdita, Berat, Vlora. To be clear. For me the Albanian Orthodox are pure Albanians and the Greek Orthodox are Greeks. I want to point out very clearly, the Albanian Orthodox are Albanians.
This part is clear for us, in Greece is different, but if for them every Greek is Orthodox, for me every Albanian Orthodox is Albanian. Our minority brethren are Orthodox Greeks. In terms of relationships, we work for the best possible relationships. We had issues to discuss. With the new government, we want to continue the dialogue, we may have friendship, understanding, respect because our neighborly relations cannot depend on the political origin of one government or another”, Rama declared among other things.
