Erion Veliaj |
In the June 30 local elections, the citizens of Tirana believed the left coalition candidate Erion Veliaj FOR a second term at the helm of the country's largest municipality to continue the work initiated and for the projects envisaged by his team.
According to Veliaj's press office, "out of the 919 boxes counted, Erion Veliaj managed to get 152,230 votes, getting the votes of former Socialist Party allies already in opposition. If in the last elections Veliaj managed to get this amount of votes together with the Socialist Movement for Integration and the party of the Chams, this time Veliaj managed alone to get almost the same number of votes, with a huge increase as a candidate."
His rival in this race, Arben Skënderi, who ran for the new party of Democratic Conviction, could get 5.79 percent of the vote or 9364 votes.
