Two dead due to sea storm in Albania coast

 The Immediate of weather conditions has caused 'powerful waves' on our coast. As a result, two vacationers lost their lives on the beaches of Durres and Gjiri i Lalzit (Gulf of Lalze). Meanwhile, in Velipoja, Saranda, and Vlora 24 persons have been saved by the Coast Guard.

The turbulent sea and strong waves have taken the lives of two vacationers this Sunday, while 24 others were rescued by police and coastguards.

The sudden change in the atmospheric conditions in Albania is the cause of this tragedy. A 33-year-old has died in the Gulf of Lalze bay, where he has been riding a motorboat. Due to the high speed of the boat, he fell in the water and consequently drowned.

Another serious event happened on the beach of Durres where a vacationer of about 50-years-old was killed. The victim has just entered the sea to wash it is not felt well.

The other vacationers sent him to the hospital, but the 50-year-old could not survive. Doctors believe the victim had health issued since the victim had heart problems.

While in Velipoja has been avoided another tragedy. The border police in cooperation with the Rapid Intervention Forces have come to the aid of 5 Albanian nationals and 9 Czechs, who risked drowning in the Rrjoll Lagoon.
