US scientist Suzanne Eaton found dead in the Greek island of Crete

 An American scientist who had disappeared without a trace in Crete of Greece has been found dead.

Greek police have found the 59-year-old Suzanne Eaton body, according to the Max Planck Institute at the University of Dresden in Germany where she worked.

But local authorities "have not yet completed their investigation into the event," the Institute said in a statement.

The Scientist Eaton has been mysteriously missing on the Greek island since July 2 as she went for a walk.

She worked at the Max Planck Institute and went to Greece for a conference.
