Even Serbian diplomacy is also working on the withdrawal of Kosovo's recognition on those states that recognize Kosovo as a free and independent state. Recently, the Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has announced that he will organize the Serbs living in the US to vote for the US President Donald Trump in the upcoming elections.
In an interview to the Serbian daily Telegraph, Dacic said that if the Serbs were wise they could create a better position for Serbia in the new administration in Washington. According to him, the plan is to promote the truth about Kosovo and our positions on this country, and the strategy is based on two directions.
As the Serbian daily reports, senior Serbian state officials believe that now is the right time to act, due to the fact that the US presidential elections will be held next year, and according to them, there will be a fierce battle for each vote.
“Serbia is now in a much better position than it was in previous years. Now in Washington exist the will to listen to our attitudes. However, this does not mean that we will stop there, rather we will intensify our efforts to strengthen our position, increase the number of friends we have in the US, so that as many senators and congressmen as possible, people in key positions, be with us,” he added.
"As Serbia's foreign minister, I will formally organize rallies to support Trump in the upcoming election. But if we do it in a smart way, if we are unique in terms of ballots that are few in number, they will create a better position in the new administration. So did the Albanians, they were unique in terms of voting for their diaspora, who always vote for only one candidate,' the Serbian Foreign Minister added.
He has cited Eliot Engel, who has consistently secured the votes of Albanians, and according to Dacic, it is not surprising that he defends the interests of the Albanians. Dacic believes that if the Serbs act like the Albanians, that is, if they launch an offensive in the next election, they will greatly help Trump. According to Serbian media, about 650,000 Serbs live in the US. Part of the plan is Serbia's active role in the US Congress through Steve Stiver, an Ohio congressman who has excellent relations and is active in lobbying for the Serbian interests.
