Montenegrin politician Nebojša Medojević: I will erect a wall at Montenegro border with Albania and Kosovo

The leader of the Montenegrin Movement for Change, Nebojša Medojević, made a shocking statement recently: the erection of a wall at the border between Montenegro with Albania and Kosovo.

Medojevic recently said that "the Democratic Front, when it comes to power, would be ready to erect a wall between Montenegro, Kosovo, and Albania because of drug gangs."

The Montenegrin Albanians have reacted harshly to these statements.

"With statements about building a wall with Kosovo and Albania, Montenegrin Movement for Change leader Nebojsa Medojevic humiliates most of those Albanian parties and some Albanians who once supported his policies," representatives of the Albanian minority parties in Montenegro said.

The Albanian politician Nikole Gegaj said Medojevic's views "represent the way extreme politicians promote religious hatred and interstate intolerance".

According to him, "Medojevic is trying to incite national hatred among Montenegrin citizens."

The leader of the Democratic Party, Fatmir Gjeka, at the same time the former mayor of Ulcinj, is shocked by the views of one of the leaders of the Democratic Front.

"Shocking. Just incredible. At the time of the open borders, to say such thing in the heat of political war is unacceptable,” says Gjeka.

But Medojevic later explained his statement, saying "the wall with Kosovo and Albania will not be erected either because of the Albanian or Montenegrin people, but exclusively against the Montenegrin and Albanian mafia, which turned the border into an 'Eldorado' for smugglers."
