The Eurosta report shows that according to GDP, our country's Health Financing Budget ranks 3.5 times lower than the EU average, twice that of the Region, and three times lower than Bosnia.
While in absolute terms of funding per capita budget, this difference to the average of European Union countries increases to about 10 times.
The critics of the Government have reiterated that budgetary funding is artificially inflated accounting to 2.8% of GDP, while in fact only it is just 2%, without mentioning here the issue of trauma center.
This is because 0.8% of estimated GDP comes from Direct Contribution income, that is, the insurance sector, which can be autonomous public, private or both where it is directly contributed by citizens, so these should not be counted as part of of State Budget financing, but only as part of expenditure.
Another problem are the expenditures (not funding) on Health sector, which are “downstream” (anti-social), since direct payments by the public account for over 50% of the expenditure with a galloping trend, a parameter far beyond the minimum of European social level.
