In a press release, the former DP deputy Enkelejd Alibeaj reacted to the appointment of Erigert Mitri as the new Lezha Police Director and that of Road Police, Edmond Targaj, according to Albanian Telegraphic Agency.
"The Democratic Party has denounced both of these incriminated police chiefs since 2016, but with proper political protection, they are not just not punished by the justice, but are being recycled again and climbing into career police 'serving to the corrupt power', Alibeaj said.
According to him, "Edi Rama's priority is to give organized crime and drug traffickers guarantees and political protection to enrich themselves together and buy elections together."
"The only solution that the country needs is to separate politics from crime, decriminalize the State Police and lead the country by a clean government that does not serve to crime, but serves to the citizens," Alibeaj said.
