Edi Rama: Removing the Albania-Kosovo border is my priority

"I have stated earlier and for this I have received accusations that anyone who has heard the idea has linked it to the idea of removing the border with Kosovo, which for me remains a priority, but seen in the broader context." This is the statement of the head of the government Edi Rama in the interview given while in New York, when being asked about the return of the regional Schengen idea.

Rama stressed that he has agreed with the Serbian and Macedonian Prime Ministers to discuss the possibility of co-operation of the three countries and the removal of borders for people, goods and entrepreneurs.

"We have been given the opportunity in this assembly with the Prime Minister of Serbia and Macedonia and we have agreed to meet soon to discuss cooperation between countries that is not exclusive to other countries, but a step to encourage others to join and for me this step is of the utmost importance that by virtue of this agreement it is the removal of boundaries for people, goods and all those doing business and all the big investors who need a wider market than the actual market to invest in. It is positive the fact that we have an understanding of moving things further into the European context.”
