Family of the Bulgarian boxer died in Shkodra in the ring want the culpable

 The scandal of the death of the Bulgarian boxer Boris Stanchkov in Shkodra a few days ago continues to deepen. After initially being told that he had entered Albania with his cousin's documents, which had been dealing with football rather than boxing, now Stanchov's parents blame the coach Ventsislav Georgiev, who left Albania immediately after the tragedy.

Boris' mother, Simeonka Stanchkov, told Bulgarian television:

“The coach brought us 400 euros and two ID cards. I asked him how it is possible that my son was dueling in the ring under another name. He replied that he was not aware of this. But, he was my son's coach, Boris, not Isus. They traveled together and the coach knows the boxer who got on the ring."

Meanwhile, Stanchkov's father, Alexander, stated:

“He loved this sport and wanted to become a professional boxer. He was always telling me: Dad I will be happy, you can't imagine of what level I am. He dreamed of becoming like his idol, twice European champion: Kubrat Pulev. I don't believe that at a young age he would use substances."

Isus Velichkov, Stanchkov's cousin spoke also about his death, about the documents of which the boxer entered Albania.

“Since a year, Boris used my name. He assured me there was no problem and the coach knew this. He did it because he didn't want any loss in the ring to his name. After this tragedy, I see many irregularities. How was the license secured in my name in a time I was never involved in boxing, but only football. I don't feel guilty, I didn't do anything. Three or four days before the duel Boris came to my house, took my ID card and told me that when he returned we would celebrate together.”

Also shocking is the statement of Boris Stanchkov's friend, who also told Bulgarian media that the coach had given him a doping substance before the match.

“The coach gave him an ampoule of unknown content that I don't know. This happened to weaken him so that he would lose, but he refused to drink it. However, the component of the ampoule was dropped into a glass of water and Boris drank half of it.”
