120 Albanians voluntarily returned from France

"Deportation from EU countries is accompanied by additional measures, including a ban on travel to the Schengen area for up to several years." This is the warning given by Perparim Dema, the Head of the Rinas Police Commissariat.

At the Rinas airport, 120 Albanian nationals, asylum seekers in France, have voluntarily returned, avoiding thus possible penalties stemming from the failure to comply with the Schengen area residence permits.

This was one of the largest voluntary repatriation operations. According to the Head of the Rinas Police Commissariat, Perparim Dema, this operation is important due to the fact that their return was voluntary, which is considered an auxiliary element in preventing irregular movement in the Schengen area.

Appealing to Albanian citizens to respect the rules of movement, Demas said that:

“I want to appeal to all Albanian citizens not to abuse the freedom of movement. Albania is a safe country and it is considered by EU countries as well and asylum applications have no chance of being approved."

Regarding the possible consequences for persons who violate the rules of free movement in EU countries, Demas said: “Deportation from EU countries is accompanied by other additional measures, including the prohibition of in several years of traveling in the Schengen area.”

Three days ago another 100 citizens were repatriated to Rinas, who has been detained in France, Belgium, and Germany.
