The 'strong Albanian' of UK, Jimmy Marku has been sentenced to 6 years in prison

Jimmy Marku, regarded as the pride of the Albanian community in England after taking part in Britain's Strongest Man race and won the award in 2008, has been convicted of trafficking in human beings toward the UK.

A court sentenced Mark to six years in prison. He admitted to the court charges of bringing illegally 17 Albanians into England by a small cruise ship in May 2018. Jimmy Marku, 44, was convicted earlier in 2012 of narcotics dealing. He was sentenced to nine months in prison at that time, British media reported.

The judge of the case said: “All the 17 Albanians were men. One of them was a gangster previously recognized by authorities after being convicted of drug trafficking. The issue is very serious, as we are dealing with repeated violations of our country's laws."
