Ceferin has landed this Sunday in the capital, where he is honored to inaugurate Albania's newest Stadium - Air Albania. The number one of the European football said in the press conference that Albania is investing heavily in the football section.
“It is the most enjoyable stadium in the Balkans. It may be one of the most important stadiums in the region. The important thing is that you now have a national stadium where people can come with their families and feel safe. Should not be compared to any major. It is different, and can be more fun than any Wembley," Ceferin said.
“You're investing a lot. The infrastructure is improving. The problem with all the minor leagues, is that the players go fast in the strong leagues. For me, some go even earlier than they should. I'm sure your path is right, and I'm not saying it diplomatically. As passionate as you are, it is sure that you will succeed. I don't think just one qualification is enough for you,” Ceferin said.
Speaking about investments in Albania, Ceferin stressed that the next project is the Kukes stadium. “As far as I know, we have funded projects. The next project is the Kukes Stadium. This is the 15th question. As the president of UEFA, I cannot make promises. The process is transparent. Albania has the chance to host a European final. It would not be correct for me to make promises,” said Ceferin.
Speaking to European 2020, Ceferin said that "all stadiums are ready. Earlier we inaugurated the stadium in Budapest. We're sure of that. As far as fans are concerned, the format is different, and the journey for some will be long, for some not. Every fan will be free to go to any stadium. Then, to travel to Azerbaijan, someone from France will be a long journey. The competition format is challenging, but it is also friendly, and to show that we are united, just like football. I believe will be a fantastic European. We will have the biggest problems as organizers. Some countries want visas, different currencies. It will be a big deal. By June 2019 we had sold 3 million tickets. But when no one knew who was qualified, we received 19 million ticket requests. I believe that the fans will be in the stadiums,” said the head of European football.
