The Prosecutor General of Albania Arta Marku announced on Wednesday that has begun the process of verifying the facts made public for the prosecutor Arjan Ndoja, who was wounded by gunfire on Friday during an assassination attempt on the Tirana-Durres highway.

Interim Attorney General Arta Marku is verifying the facts made public and collecting data on violations of the rules of incompatibility with the function of magistrate, according to the law on the status of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania, - the announcement says.

The head of the prosecution received a letter from the Supreme Prosecutorial Council (SPC) asking her to launch a disciplinary investigation against the prosecutor Arjan Ndoja in order to discover whether or not he had consumed the disciplinary offenses.

SPC has considered the assassination attempt on the prosecutor and his vehicle near Shkozet as a serious event against justice system in the country.

The Council emphasized that in these circumstances must be established whether or not the Prosecutor Ndoji runs a legal studio, where he provides legal advice on various matters, as he pretends.

"If this were to turn out to be true, - said the SPC - this would constitute disciplinary violations provided for in the law on the status of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania."

Albanian police announced the arrest of 34-year-old Nikla of Fushe - Kruja, Redjan Rraja, suspected of being the perpetrator of the assassination attempt on Friday against Durres prosecutor Arjan Ndoji, his driver Andy Maloku and fellow passenger Pellumb Muharremi.
