Kosovar film director Arzana Kraja passed away in Pristina

 
 On Wednesday morning passed away the film director Arzana Kraja in Pristina.

The Kosovo Cinema Center said in a post on its social network Facebook that Kraja's engagement in the field of cinematography was exceptional.

“We are shocked by the news of the death of director Arzana Kraja! Her commitment to the field of cinematography was extraordinary. Condolences to family, friends and all co-workers,” the statement said.

Kosovo police have confirmed to Radio Free Europe the death of a female person with the initials A.K, and that she came to the scene after information about a dead body.

Police officials have also said the case is being considered "suspicious death" until the autopsy report is published.

Kraja is known for her films, "February" and "Field of Thorns".

Arzana Kraja is the daughter of the President of the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts, Mehmet Kraja.

The artistic community in Kosovo and its friends have been upset and have expressed condolences to the late director.

Kosovo's President, Hashim Thaci, has said that Arzana has greatly contributed to Kosovo's cinematography.

"The death of director Arzana Kraja is sad news for all of us. She gave much to our cinematography with her talent and she was too young. Condolences to Kraja's family, friends of Arzana and the entire artistic community and culture in our country," the president said in a Facebook post.
