Protest women violence in Sofia

 

 A parade against violence against women with the motto "While there is violence, the war continues!" Is being organized in Sofia at the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls. 

The Initiatives are 14 organizations, according to which the state does not take measures to prevent homicide and domestic violence and discrimination based on sex gender.

Gergana Kuceva of the Bulgarian Women's Fund notes that legal cosmetic changes are being adopted to increase penalties, but key packages of preventive measures are missing.

Protesters point out that instead of opening new centers for women victims of domestic violence, some of the existing ones were closed. Even the cops do not learn how to react to such situations.
