Jean Todt in Tirana |
"I am very happy to be here for the Regional Automobile Congress. I am taking the opportunity to express my condolences for the natural disaster that occurred a few weeks ago, for the damage all over the country and for the lives lost."
Todt said he had meetings with Prime Minister Rama, Parliament Speaker Ruci and other officials to discuss helping educate children and young people on-road behavior.
“We know that Albania has shown itself ready to host motorsport activities, citing as an example Karting, which is good for laying the groundwork. In 2016 we provided financial assistance to the Albanian club to develop the foundations of this sport. It is important to increase the participation of children and young people so that in the future they will be not only pilots but also responsible drivers on the road. It is also very important to strengthen the law, but also to increase the safety of cars, road infrastructure, but also the behavior of drivers, but also in case of an accident ”.
The president of the Albanian Automobile Club, Niko Leka, after talking about what has been done in the sport, spoke on the same topic.
And how could a question about the health of Michael Schumacher, a 7-time Formula One world champion, be missing?
“Honestly, this is not a conference topic. It's a private matter. You know Michael Schumacher has always been a close friend of mine, and so is his family, but it's a private matter."
