"I will prepare a response to the lawsuit by law within the legal deadlines," Haradinaj wrote on Facebook.
On Wednesday, the Betimi për Drejtësi website said that had secured Rama's lawsuit, which was filed in the Basic Court in Pristina.
Rama's lawsuit, according to the alleges that Haradinaj has slandered against Rama for statements he made on the subject of territories exchange with Serbia.
"The indictment mentions several shows aired during October last year in which Haradinaj spoke on the subject, accusing Rama along with [Kosovo President] Hashim Thaci and [Vice President] of Serbia] Alexander Vucic of having started the idea of exchanging territories between Kosovo and Serbia."
While the contents of the lawsuit have not yet been confirmed.
Haradinaj said, "Prime Minister Rama's indictment is completely unfounded and is a political diversion made by him to hide behind media dramas and to evade responsibility".
"Our nation and Kosovo have people who have their in hand the fate of their nation at all times," Haradinaj wrote on the social network Facebook.
The idea of exchanging or redefining territories between Kosovo and Serbia was first mentioned in August 2018 by Thaci and Vucic as an opportunity to resolve problems between the two countries.
The idea has sparked reactions for and against both within Kosovo and Serbia, as well as with the international community.
Haradinaj, after the idea came to light, expressed his support for preserving Kosovo's current borders and said "there should be no new creativity in their design".
On the other hand Rama echoed the statements by then European Commission officials that the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia "should not endanger the overall stability of the region, but should contribute to stability in the region".
