 A fire has engulfed the Durres Hospital in the early hours of this Saturday. Sources at the scene told to media that the fire has initially been felt on the electrical packed of the building's first floor and then involved the other three floors of the building.

As a result, smoke was spreading rapidly across the four floors of the coastal city hospital, a situation that forced authorities to urgently evacuate 120 patients that were in the building at that moment.

Most of them were sent in other hospital buildings while 4 of them were sent to Tirana for more specialized treatment.

The cause of the fire was an electrical spark on the first floor and then the fire spread throughout the four-story building.

The investigative team and police are working to fully document this grave event, which has caused fear and panic among patients and their families.
