In a press release, the Ministry of Health notes that the controlled cases have had travel histories from countries affected by COVID-19, but thankfully their testing has proved negative, confirming once again that Albania has no case with coronavirus.
According to official data, 26 cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 have so far been tested, all of which have been negative. The ministry also urges citizens to be informed about the situation in accurate and reliable sources of information and not to create unnecessary panic.
Ministry of Health Ogerta Manastirliu has announced measures have been taken to provide hospital treatment for 100 to 150 cases of coronavirus infection. Regarding quarantine, always if needed, Mrs. Manastirliu claimed to have been designated as such the Durres Rest House, following the case of France acting in the same manner.
"We have provided the conditions to deal with the scenarios that coronavirus can bring us. It will not be easy, but we have taken action. An essential element is that time when cases are identified”, stated the Minister
Minister Manastirliu announced during the meeting of the Task Force against Coronavirus COVID-19 that 1.2 million surgical masks have begun to be distributed in health facilities, in addition to personal protective equipment and existing stock.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, speaking to the National Security Committee during the week, said Albania is prepared to deal with and prevent coronavirus in co-operation with the World Health Organization. Referring to the WHO, the head of the Albanian government emphasized that "infodemia", the news that spread panic about the virus, has affected also Albania the same as the whole world.
