Customs say officials that all the cigarettes had not the fiscal stamps of Albania and that the case was referred to the Prosecutor's Office of the Shkodra Court of First Instance for the criminal offense of "Smuggling" and "counterfeiting of stamps, seals or forms” provided by Articles 172 and 190/3 of the Albanian Criminal Code.
After a risk analysis and reasonable doubts, the customs authorities exercised control over the suspect vehicle, which resulted in a consignment of 80 thousand packages of "REGINA RED" brand cigarettes.
The whole cigarette load was not equipped with fiscal stamps of Albania or any other country.
The case was referred to the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of First Instance of Shkodra for the criminal offense of "Smuggling of Excise Payable Goods or Full or Partial Suspension of Customs or Excise Duties" and "Forgery of Stamps, Stamps or Forms" provided by Articles 172 and 190/3 of the Criminal Code.
Further investigative actions are being carried out in co-operation with the Prosecutor's Office of the First Instance Court of Shkodra.
