Initially, this news caused great fear and concern among the citizens of Kosovo, while the controls and conclusions reached by the UCCK reject it.
"Patient outcome is negative for coronavirus!" - wrote UCCK.
But this fact has not been confirmed by the UCCK alone. In a press release circulated by the media, the National Institute of Public Health says checks on the British citizen have proved negative for the new coronavirus.
National Institute of Public Health response
“The National Institute of Public Health received today information from the UCCK Infectious Disease Clinic at 5 pm that a British citizen was referred by the Gjilan Emergency Center to the Infectious Disease Clinic. The patient is an international staffer in Kosovo and was staying at a ski resort in Mont Blanc, France, a few days ago.
The patient was visited by a team of doctors at the UCCK Infectious Disease Clinic and had a mild fever and a slight cough. Samples were taken immediately for laboratory analysis and brought to the National Institute of Public Health for diagnostics at 7 pm.
The Molecular Microbiology Laboratory team at NIPHK has tested the novel coronavirus (2019 - nCoV) and influenza A and B by the rRT-PCR method. The test was negative for all three tests, meaning the patient was not infected with the novel coronavirus (2019 - nCoV) and influenza A and B."
Albania and Kosovo, because they have no direct links to China, have so far been considered low-risk countries for the spread of the deadly virus, which has unfortunately killed hundreds of people.
While numerous cases of coronavirus have been reported in China and elsewhere, Albania and Kosovo have so far not confirmed any cases of the virus. In Europe, some people have been infected with the virus, while in China, the number of casualties has reached over 720, and the number of affected is over 30,000.
