 Bulgaria has the highest mortality rate in the world, according to World Health Organization data. 

The mortality coefficient is 15.4 per 1000 people. According to the organization, the causes of this high mortality rate in Bulgaria are the same as in other European countries, including diseases of the cardiovascular system, noninfectious diseases, and cancer.

High mortality in the world depends on several factors: communicable diseases, lack of health services, lack of adequate nutrition, heart disease, cancer diseases, and accidents. Countries with high mortality and low birth rates are facing demographic collapse. In this negative classification, Bulgaria is with countries like Ukraine, Lithuania, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Georgia and Russia.
