An announcement said the test was completed after midnight, at around 00:30, and proved negative for all three tests.
According to the institute, last night at around 8 pm, it received information that two patients were suspected to be infected with coronavirus COCID-19.
Patients have had a fever, rare dry cough, fatigue and clotting, and shortness of breath. However, after midnight tests, all three tests were negative, meaning that both patients were not infected with SARS-CoV-2 nor influenza A and B.
“The National Institute of Public Health on February 22, 2020, at 8:10 pm received information from the UCCK Infectious Disease Clinic in Pristina on two suspected patients with the Coronavirus COCID-19. Patients had fever simptoms, rare dry cough, fatigue, and wheezing and breathing difficulties. The Molecular Microbiology Laboratory team at NIPHK has tested the coronavirus COVID-19 and influenza A and B by rRT-PCR on both patients. The test was completed at 00.30 am and was negative for all three tests, meaning both patients were not infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus or influenza A and B. "
Reportedly, the National Institute teams are closely monitoring worldwide the epidemiological situation with Coronavirus.
While the situation in the world is starting to get serious, 2442 people have died in China so far, while 20 have died outside China.
In Italy, some cities have been isolated from the high numbers of infected, and 2 people have died so far.
