This lyric work in three acts with the libretto of the composer Konstantin Silovskiy comes from Pushkin's novel of the same name.
Staged for the first time in the distant year 1879, this current staging created for the New York Metropolitan Opera is directed by Robert Carsen and conductor James Conlon.
The exciting feature of this show is that two Albanian lyric artists with a rich international career will also have to interpret: Irida Dragoti in the role of Larina and Saimir Pirgu in the role of Lensky.
The orchestra, the choir and ballet troupe will be directed by Maestro Conlon. The work will be sung in Russian with English and Italian subtitles.
In the roles of Tatiana and Eugene will be respectively Maria Bayankina and Markus Werba. It was first performed at the Mary Theater by students of the Moscow Conservatory on March 29, 1879. The play will last 3 hours and 10 minutes with a 30-minute break.
