Following the victory of Izmir Smajlaj in the long jump, it was Luiza Gega's turn to triumph in the 3000 meters race.
The Albanian runner, who dominated the race by winning in the long-distance, while with this victory she enters the history of the Balkans in this discipline, defending for the seventh time the title.
"This event is not really my main focus but I still feel really happy when my name is called and I present myself as Luiza Gega coming to defend the title for the 7th time," said the Albanian athlete after the race, adding that now was the time for her to focus on major goals this Summer.
