The first sequestration of drug wealth in Albania, the properties of Altin Hajri
A Villa Complex and an oil station owned by Altin Hajri, one of the men charged with the abduction and killing of Jani Prenga, are the two assets seized first by Operation Rule of Law (ORL, known locally as OFL), undertaken after special law has been approved by the Government.

"In pursuance of the Special Law on Property Measures against Individuals Convicted or Charged with Organized Crime, Operation Rule of Law has placed the first sequestration on the complex Vila Golden services and on a oil station to a trading company of hydrocarbons, located at the intersection of Pjezge Xhafzotaj, Shijak, owned by the citizen Altin Bajram Hajri”, reads the Police statement.

Hajri also turns out to be sentenced to prison by the Italian justice authorities, with the arrest warrant dated 15.08.2015, for the criminal offense of "Drug trafficking, committed in co-operation".

The seizure of this object and all the properties of Altin Hajri is done based on the element of urgency provided in the Special Law. Upon imposition of this sequestration measure, the property is transferred to the administration of the Asset Management Agency, which under the Special Law is placed under the authority of the Ministry of Interior.

Police clarify that, in accordance with the new law, Hajri's property file will be immediately transferred to the SPAK and in no more than 15 days the SPAK must submit it to the Special Court, which has 15 days to confirm the seizure measure paving the way for the eventual confiscation of Altin Hajri's property. Upon confiscation, the property in question is ultimately transferred to the Ministry of Interior, which will decide on the use or demolition of the facility, as well as take possession of it and use the money, cars and land currently owned by Hajri for the public interest.
