In a time when the whole of Albania has been quarantined and the movements have been limited to the minimum, the only people seen on the highway of the Nation's Road were 8 Syrian nationals. Apparently, they have attempted to illegally cross the border into Kosovo, as a springboard for EU countries, but have failed.
The Syrians have been detained by Kukes police and escorted to the police station. According to the police, the Syrian nationals will be transferred to the Babrru Migrant Reception Center in Tirana after the routine police interviews.
It is now common in Kukes to see groups of young people from Syria seeking to cross the border at any cost, using all the possible routes.
