Cala brothers who robbed some millions of euros at Rinas Airport last year arrested

 

 State police have arrested the two Çala brothers, Klement and Eldi, who are accused of the robbery of some millions of euros last year at Rinas Airport. Police say 300 officers took part in the action, and in addition to the arrest of the two brothers, a large amount of cash, firearms and some vehicles were also seized.

On April 9 last year, a group of people managed to steal some millions ready to being shipped from some commercial banks to several European countries.

After the robbery, the masked group had a shootout with the State Police, the latter killed Admir Murataj, a friend of Klement Çala, who in 2017 in collaboration with each other robbed an armored van that was transporting money to Rinas. .

Mega operation for the detainment of the persons of high social risk in the field of armed robbery. The operation is held by the Department of Criminal Police, the Special Operational Force in the State Police, the special unit FAST Albania, RENEA and the local Durres Police Directorates, Tirana and Elbasan.

The operation involved 300 police forces. Firearms has been seized, large amounts of cash and vehicles. Klement and Eldi Çala brothers are being arrested.
