The US is seeking the removal of the tariff on Serbian goods, set at the end of 2018.
"You have undermined our special relationship with the US, without which we would have neither freedom, nor the state, nor the future. This approach is also questioning the future of our state," Thaci wrote on the social network Facebook, adding that "The confrontation with the US is very harmful and an unforgivable mistake in the modern history of Kosovo."
Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, on February 27 proposed to abolish the tariff on raw materials imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina by starting on March 15, as a "sign of goodwill" and a willingness "to start a genuine solution' of economic, trade and political disputes with Serbia ”.
But Kurti's proposal did not find the backing of the United States of America, not even the ruling coalition partner, the Democratic League of Kosovo.
