29-year old Italian nurse kills his girlfriend: I got the coronavirus

During these days coronavirus has been the protagonist of a collective drama, but in some cases, it can be simply the backdrop of a family tragedy.

An Italian nurse, Antonio De Pace, from a Sicilian town near Messina, has been arrested after killing his fiancé, who was a medical student.
The reason? "I got the coronavirus virus," the killer told police.

The 28-year-old nurse and the student dated at the Messina Polyclinic, where the 26-year-old Lorena Quaranta was performing the practice.

The real causes of the murder remain a mystery, as two tampons on the nurse turned out to be negative and the couple on social networks seemed happy.

The killing shocked the town of Furci, so much so that the mayor demanded at least the funerals be held privately, though this is no longer allowed by Italian measures against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
