Albanian police fined 330 pedestrians and 43 drivers for failing to comply with security measures

 During the last 24 hours, the Albanian Police has fined 330 pedestrians, 43 drivers, while 6 business owners have been prosecuted, as they have not respected the measures imposed by the government regarding the battle against COVID-19.

The State Police announces that 4 citizens were fined during the monitoring, as they did not implement the order to restrict the movement in open parks and green areas, in urban areas or other public open spaces.

"Police services continue to control the entire territory, in accordance with the restrictive measures announced by the Albanian government, to control the consequences that lead to the spread of COVID-19," said the police.

"During the last 24 hours, 43 drivers have been identified throughout the country who have violated the traffic ban order, who have been punished by revoking their driving license and blocking their vehicle," the police said.

"In Gjirokastra, citizen J. C., 23 years old, resident of Këlcyrë, was arrested in flagrant, because he was caught driving a motorcycle without license plates and without a driving license yesterday afternoon in the city of Këlcyrë," explains the Police.

"Across the country, during the last 24 hours, as a result of controls exercised by police structures and denunciations received from citizens at the official addresses of the State Police, on 112/129 and the Digital Commissariat, have been identified and fined with 10,000 leks, 330 citizens, who were ascertained by the Police services by moving on foot or by bicycle, without any reason or emergency”, the Police announces.
