The family from Lombardy in northern Italy, which has suffered the second-highest number of infections and the highest death toll, were from the wine-producing town of Voghera.
The first to die was Alfredo Bertucci on Friday (March 27th), who was 86 years old.
His death was promptly followed by his two sons, Daniele (54-year-old) and Claudio (46-year-old).
Both reportedly got sick about 10 days ago.
Alfredo's 77-year-old wife, Angela Albergati, who was treated at the same hospital as her family members, died this morning.
According to local media, the family displayed all of the common symptoms of Covid-19, including fever, cough and difficulty breathing.
The father and two sons worked as ironworks craftsmen.
Family friend Massimo Giovanni Fasano said that “this is a real tragedy. They were all strong and healthy. "
Antonio Richardiardi, the owner of a local funeral agency, stated: “A whole generation is gone in two weeks. We've never seen anything like this. You can just cry."
