Kosovo journalist Violeta Rexhepagiqi, dead in her home in Pristina
 The journalist and composer Violeta Rexhepagiqi was found dead in her apartment in Pristina. The deceased worked for years as a journalist at RTK, the state television network of Kosovo.

The cause of death of the 44-year-old is unclear. A police spokeswoman in the Pristina region, Flora Ahmeti, said the deceased was found dead in her home.

"Today, at around 09:30, the police received the information that in the Ferat Dragaj Street in Prishtina, exactly in a house, there is a person without signs of life. Upon receiving the information, the police went to the scene, where they saw the victim, a woman, who was without signs of life. The death of the victim was ascertained by the medical team at the scene ", said Ahmeti, while the causes of death are still unclear, forensic expertise is expected

Kosovo Police said that currently, the police units in coordination with the State Prosecutor are taking all necessary actions on this case.

Announcing the painful news, RTK says that Violeta will be remembered for her great contribution in the field of journalism and informing the Albanian people about the events and tortures and imprisonments that took place in pre-war Kosovo.

Violeta became known to the general Albanian public with her presentations in the group of modern music of the time "Vivien", around 1984. During this time, she twice represented Kosovo in the selection of the representative of Yugoslavia for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Violeta has worked for RTP for years, then for RTK, and during the 90's she was a correspondent for TV Sky News. She was the sister of renowned singer and songwriter Armend Rexhepagiqi.
