Serbia donates to Italy 5 million masks and 1 million gloves
Four medical planes took off from Belgrade Airport to Italy on Saturday - one of the European countries most affected by COVID-19.

Carlo Lo Cascio, Italy's ambassador to Belgrade, thanked Serbia for its help, stressing that this was a "big gesture".

"It simply came to our notice then. This material will be very useful for our hospitals, to save lives from coronavirus," said Lo Cascio.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the aid to Italy consisted of 2 million surgical masks, 2 million epidemiological masks, 1 million protective gloves and other equipment.

"Serbia will send eight aid planes to Italy. Four today, two tomorrow and two the day after tomorrow. These are goods that Serbia has bought with the money of its citizens. Italy now needs these more than us. Our country is supplied," Vucic said.

The boxes with aid read: "We will win together - Italy be strong, Serbia is with you."
