Speaking at a meeting of the Central Committee for Decision-Making and Executive (MYK) of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) via video conference, Erdogan said almost the entire world is struggling with the new type of coronavirus epidemic.
"This epidemic, which is fundamentally a health problem due to the effects of economic impact, has become the biggest crisis since World War II. The despair faced by developed countries, in particular, makes it mandatory to review all predictions made about the future. Turkey, which is close to the countries most affected by the epidemic, such as Europe and Iran, certainly cannot be left out of this situation. But the difference we have with other countries is the fact that we have a strong health infrastructure and we have taken the necessary measures in time," Erdogan said.
Turkey, for the first time since World War II, has won the opportunity to be at the center of the process of reconstructing a new global level.
"It is very important that in addition to the fight against the epidemic, we are prepared for the new situations that will arise in the world, the region and the country after the epidemic. Now we see that the course of the epidemic is horizontal. Ensuring the highest level of measures taken during the month of Ramadan, we hope to move into normal life after Eid," said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
