In total, the number of infected in Albania has reached 1029, while 24 new cases have been confirmed in the municipalities of Tirana, and one in Durrës.
Full statement by Mirela Cami, Director of the Operator of Health Care Services:
We inform you about the situation of COVID 19 in Albania during the last 24 hours.
This morning, a 69-year-old patient from Tirana, with the initials S.K., who was being treated in intensive care at the infectious disease hospital, suddenly died, despite the efforts of the doctors. The Ministry of Health expresses its condolences to the family of the deceased.
Since the start of the epidemic, 33 citizens have lost the battle with Covid19.
In the last 24 hours we have new hospitalizations in the infectious disease hospital, where currently 17 patients are being treated, 3 of whom are in intensive care.
In the last 24 hours, there has been an increase in the number of those affected, related to contacts from previous positive cases, but also new hotspots in Tirana.
173 citizens were tested as suspects affected by Covid19 and 25 positive cases were confirmed. More specifically, there are 24 affected in Tirana and 1 in Durrës.
Among the new cases 15 affected are in a call-center, contacts of a positive case identified two days ago. The epidemiological investigation is continuing for some new cases in Tirana.
In the last 24 hours, 8 citizens have recovered.
Since the start of the epidemic, more than 14,500 molecular and serological tests have been performed, and the number of confirmed positive cases across the country is 1,029. Of these, about 78% have been cured.
