33-year-old mentally ill set fire to his apartment in Elbasan

 A serious incident has been reported in Elbasan, where 33-year-old person with mental health problems set fire to his apartment.

The incident happened this morning in an apartment on the first floor of a building in the "Spaikorre" neighborhood.

Official sources said the flames and heavy smoke that had engulfed the apartment had spread outside and alarmed neighbors had alerted police and firefighters. The latter arrived at the scene after a few minutes and in record time managed to extinguish the flames.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire was intentionally caused by the person living in this apartment identified as a citizen with the initials B.H. He turns out to be a person with severe mental health problems and has been treated with medication for years. Thankfully he suffered minor injuries from the flames caused by himself.
