50-year old sentenced by Milan Court arrested in Tirana

 A 50-year-old man convicted of drug trafficking by Italian authorities has been arrested in Durrës.

Durrës Police Services of the Local Police Directorate, as a result of the constant exchange of information between the CCO Interpol Tirana and the Criminal Police Department, made possible the location in Shijak and the arrest of the Albanian citizen Rudin Koni, 50 years old resident in Maminas, Durrës.

The citizen was declared internationally wanted by the Italian police authorities, after the Court of Milan sentenced him to 10 years in prison, for committing the criminal offense "Trafficking in narcotics", provided by the Italian Law on Drugs.

This citizen, in cooperation with other persons, has trafficked from Albania to Italy, quantities of narcotics of the cocaine type, in order to sell it in Milan and Salento, Italy.

The provisional arrest was made with the aim of extraditing him to Italy, based on the 1957 "European Extradition Convention" and the Bilateral Agreement on Extraditions signed between the Republic of Albania and Italy.
