63-year-old Albanian was arrested in Vlora, sentenced to 6 years in prison for drugs in Italy

 

 The State Police, in cooperation with Interpol Tirana, have arrested a 63-year-old man in Vlora, after being wanted by the Italian authorities. Bashkim Alushaj has been wanted by the neighboring state for drug trafficking, after being sentenced to 6 years in prison by the Bari Court.

Has been arrested for the purpose of extradition to Italy the 63-year-old convicted of the criminal offenses "Narcotics Trafficking" and "Illegal Immigration".

Operation by DVP Vlora, in cooperation with Interpol Tirana.

The Police Services of the Local Police Directorate of Vlora, as a result of the continuous exchange of information between the CCO Interpol Tirana and the Criminal Police Department, made possible the localization in the 29 November quarter of Vlora and the arrest of Albanian citizen Bashkim Alushaj, 63 years old, resident in Vlora.

The citizen was declared internationally wanted by the Italian police authorities, after the Court of Bar, Italy, sentenced him to 6 years in prison for committing the criminal offenses "Narcotics Trafficking" and "Illegal Immigration", provided by the Italian Law on Drugs.

The provisional arrest was made with the aim of extraditing him to Italy, based on the 1957 "European Extradition Convention" and the Bilateral Agreement on Extraditions signed between the Republic of Albania and Italy..
