Including the local intelligence service in the region, MIT initially determined that Romano was alive.
Thanks to security forces' work, she was rescued alive and handed over to the Italian authorities in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, by the Turkish National Intelligence Service.
In the news published in the Italian media, it is said that Romano worked as a volunteer for the aid organization called Africa Milelel Onlus, and for this purpose he had been in Kenya for some time.
