 Thanks to the coordinated work of the Turkish National Intelligence Service (known as MIT), it has been rescued the Italian citizen who was abducted in Kenya and later sent to Somalia.

Italian authorities asked help from MIT about the 25-year-old Italian citizen Silvia Constanza Romano, who was abducted in the Kenyan city of Chakama in November 2018 and then sent to Somalia.

Following this, the National Intelligence Service of Turkey started work in December 2019 in the region regarding the situation of Romano.

Including the local intelligence service in the region, MIT initially determined that Romano was alive.



Thanks to security forces' work, she was rescued alive and handed over to the Italian authorities in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, by the Turkish National Intelligence Service.

In the news published in the Italian media, it is said that Romano worked as a volunteer for the aid organization called Africa Milelel Onlus, and for this purpose he had been in Kenya for some time.
