Karavasta Photovoltaic Park Auction, French company 'Voltalia' wins

 Finally has been finalized the international auction for the Karavasta photovoltaic park, where the winning company is Voltalia, a French company. 

The price given by this company was 24.89 euros per megawatt. And according to Minister Balluku, this is a record price for such parks.

"We have an energy park from the Voltalia, the largest company in France. This will turn into a very good relationship," she said.

Five companies competed in the auction, including a Chinese one and a temporary merger of German companies.



"I am glad that we managed to finalize this process, taking into account what we are going through. This energy park will be the largest in the region.

I am glad that we are able to see concretely the finalization of a great effort to open a new page in the history of the energy system including an important volume, the first of this nature, solar energy in the system, and foreign investment of over 100 million euros. It will be made by an internationally renowned company.



This is a very positive day for Albania. By 2050, the world's energy is predicted to be triple of that of today. This is the largest park in the region. For us, it is the beginning of a process, where we expect the growth of these capacities. The price is fantastic, out of any prediction, the expectations were far away", said then Prime Minister Edi Rama on social networks.
