An 18-year-old tried to kidnap a 4-year-old little girl from the hands of her mother, in the neighborhood no. 17, Korça.
Fortunately, the perpetrator was caught by the residents of the neighborhood, who kept him neutralized, until the police arrived at the scene.
They were residents of the area who managed to save the girl.
Xhoniel Qelemeni, a resident of this neighborhood, tells how he managed to save the girl from the hands of the kidnapper. He says he chased the perpetrator until he took the girl and that she was very scared.
"It was the mother and the daughter who crossed the street here. I was with two friends, I was standing on the curbs, I saw a guy who passed by here, he went to grab the girl. We screamed at him and he was scared, we ran after him, the incident happened at around 09:20 am. I didn't know that guy, I ran after him until he got tired, my friends helped me, we caught him. At that moment, the police stopped there. He was immediately arrested. The mother was screaming, scared, trembling. In those moments the girl was scared. This had not happened before in this neighborhood", said the young man.
The event took place on Friday evening in the 17th district of the city of Korça.
The perpetrator is suspected of suffering from mental health problems.
But so far we have no official confirmation, everything is expected to unfold in the coming days.
